WHAT ARE AFTF STRATEGIES?
The AFTF is identifying sellers who are engaging in irresponsible flipping
practice locally and over the Internet through the collection, investigation
and analysis of data that reveals flipping practices. If it is determined
that existing laws have been broken, the AFTF will pursue legal action or
refer to appropriate law enforcement authorities for possible criminal
prosecution.
Through community awareness and education efforts for investors and real
estate professionals, the AFTF supports ethical investment in Buffalo. The
AFTF is collaborating with government and private entities to create and
sustain programs that prevent foreclosure and encourage homeownership.
The AFTF has reviewed existing laws and policies and recommended to City,
State and Federal government representatives, various legislative and policy
changes that will prevent or curb abusive practices which result in property
flipping and neighborhood destabilization.
The AFTF is performing community outreach in order to disseminate useful
information, answer questions from the community, and act as an
informational clearinghouse for matters concerning property flipping.
